COMMON BOILER ISSUES
With boiler systems, system failure can be simple or it can be complex. When in doubt about the severity of your boiler issues, contact the experienced technicians at A. Bailey Plumbing and Heating. With our 39 years of experience, we can fix boilers that operate on any energy resource.
The first place to check is your thermostat. If there are indications that your pressure is low, there may be a leak that needs to be addressed or simply a valve that needs to be replaced.
It could be that your pressure is low or your system is kittling due to sludge buildup. At the worst, it could mean pump failure.
First, check if there is a leak. If there is a visible leak, don’t hesitate to call us first. If there isn’t, try repressurizing the system.
YOUR BOILER’S SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE
The key to optimal boiler performance is maintenance. As a rule, the first steps start with you. Listening for strange noises, keeping the vent termination, boiler and temperature/pressure readings accessible and unobstructed are the basics. Once a month, check all components for leaks. Even small leaks can account for significant drops in pressure.
A. Bailey Plumbing and Heating suggests that you schedule thorough quarterly, biannual and annual boiler maintenance to inspect all your energy system, distribution, and duct connections. We conduct system tests to stay ahead of buildups with cleanings and flushes. If you don’t remember the last time you had your boiler inspected by a professional HVAC contractor, don’t wait any longer to schedule your maintenance call.
